    A. K. Gopalan or AKG was one of the popular and strongest  Indian communist leader. His original name was Ayillyath Kuttiari Gopalan and was born at Kannur, Kerala on 1st October 1904. He participated in many freedom movements like Khadi Movement, Salt Sathyagraha and also acted as a Volunteer Captain of Guruvayoor Satyagraha. He was the leader of Thiruvannoor Cotton Mill Strike and Hunger March from Kannur to Madrass during 1936. He also become the Secretary of Kerala Communist Party on that year. AKG played an major role in the formation of Indian Coffee House and knowing as the founder of Indian Coffee House.
